Children’s Privacy on Our Site
The Site does not ask for or collect personal, individually-identifiable information from children. We do use computer logfiles so we can see how many visitors we have, but we cannot tell personal information from them. If any visitor to the Site chooses to provide us with personal information, as in an email inquiry, that information will be used only to respond to the message. The information will not be used for any purpose other than to respond to the inquiry. We do not create individual profiles from the information provided or distribute the information to others.
Data Your Child Provides
If your child provides us feedback or contacts us (for support, for example), we will collect the data included in the communication. We use this personal information to assist your child with his/her query or support request and then delete such information once we have fulfilled the child’s query or support request.
If your child participates in a contest, sweepstakes or other promotion, we will collect any data your child provides, we may use it for the purpose of the promotion, and then delete such data after the promotion, to the extent the deletion of such data is permissible by law.
Please note that we are prohibited from conditioning a child’s participation in a game, the offering of a prize, or another activity on the child’s disclosing more Personal Information than is reasonably necessary to participate in such activity.
Your Child’s Information Collected via Technology
When your child uses the Site, some information is automatically collected. For example, our servers (which may be hosted by a third party service provider) collect information from your child, including your child’s browser type, device type, operating system, Internet Protocol (IP) address, domain name, and date/time stamps for your use of the Site. We use this information only for the operation of the Site and do not link it to any other information about your child.
Use of Your Child’s Information
We use personal information only to (a) respond to one-time child requests, comments and questions and then delete such personal data after we have responded to the child’s request or question; and (b) otherwise support the internal operations of our Site.
Disclosure of Your Child’s Information
We do not disclose to third parties any child’s personal information that we collect other than as follows, consistent with applicable law: (a) with a parent’s permission, (b) as required by any applicable law, (c) to third-party service providers who help us operate or manage the Sites, (d) to comply with legal process, (e) to respond to governmental requests, (f) to enforce our Terms and Conditions, (g) to protect our operations, (h) for assistance in fraud detection and prevention; (i) to protect the rights, privacy, safety or property of Toys “R” Us, your child or others, and (j) in connection with a disposition of all or a substantial portion of our business, assets or stock, such as a sale, merger, consolidation, reorganization, joint venture, assignment, or bankruptcy or similar proceedings.
We will retain your child’s personal information for only as long as is reasonably necessary to fulfill the purpose for which the information was collected.
Parental Choices and Control
At any time, parents can refuse to permit us to collect further personal information from their children and can request that we delete from our records the personal information we have collected in connection with that account. Parents can contact us to request access to, change, or delete their child’s personal information by sending an email to us at email@example.com or by calling 1-800-TOYSRUS (1-800-869-7787) or 1-888-BABYRUS (1-888-222-9787).
